Conformance status

This website is partially in conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at conformance level AA. The partial conformance results from the fact that the automated assessment returned no WCAG errors, but some manual-review notes remain and the linked application on a separate subdomain contains a small number of issues. See the 'Non-accessible content' section for details.

Preparation and last review

This statement was prepared on 17 May 2026. The underlying assessment was carried out on the same day as a self-assessment by the provider using the web-based audit tool WAVE (https://wave.webaim.org/) and covers all 18 pages of the pdfenhancer.pages.dev domain (nine German-language and nine English-language pages).

Non-accessible content

The following content is not, or only partly, accessible: Manual-review notes (WAVE alerts). On individual pages (in particular /en/about and /en/pricing) up to six manual-review notes were issued, for instance hints about possibly redundant links or text passages styled as visual highlights that could potentially be interpreted as headings. A deeper manual evaluation of these locations using assistive technologies (screen readers, keyboard navigation, tests with actual end users with disabilities) is still outstanding. Reason: disproportionate burden under § 6 WZG, as the provider is a single developer and the deeper manual evaluation requires resources exceeding what is currently available. Contrast issues in the linked application. The application accessible at pdfenhancer-web.pages.dev currently exhibits three contrast issues (WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.3, Contrast Minimum). These issues will be addressed in an upcoming version. Reason: The application is marked as 'in development'; the identified issues will be prioritised as part of ongoing development. General note. The underlying PDFEnhancer application has been designed with accessibility as a core principle from the start (text-to-speech for transcripts and summaries, subtitle functionality, planned podcast functionality for students with visual or mobility impairments). The continuous improvement of this website's accessibility follows the same standard.
